cake, sausages and friends

As our car has been broken now for a while we are walking everywhere and staying local. Granddad came to visit and we thought it would be great to take all the cooking stuff up to the allotment and have sausages. Neil and I had made a divine chocolate cake the day before so we took that up to. A beautiful sunny Sunday.

Once there we saw our friends at a couple of plots up and Lucas (aged 7) and Louis were off. Sophia (aged 3) is Sammy's friend from Pre-school so she came down to our plot to see what was going on too. The boys found water pistols and had great fun. Our friends needed lunch too and we had enough to go around which was really nice.

Amidst watering each other, the boys did water the potato tyres (which are up to two layers, soon to be three). Granddad did a spot of digging in the big plot ready for green climbing beans to be planted once our seeds have grown to seedlings. Our seeds are currently housed in the lounge where the sun streams through very hot every day.

Granddad found one of last years onions in the ground he was turning over so we had that in our hot dogs! The boys enjoyed pulling up the last of the beautifully purple spring onions and the baby baby leeks. The smell was lovely.

We watered and by the time we had done all the cooking and eating it was time to pack up and for Granddad to catch a bus.
