Snow and illness

Neil popped up to take pix in the snow. It has been beautiful and lots of fun and also tinged with frustration as the boys have been ill. Still the allotment looks good in the snow, all that life waiting to spring up given half the chance, can't wait!

New start

I am itching to get gardening but it has been so wet, the soil is claggy. Neil and I popped up for a break yesterday and took a picnic just so I could see what is going on up there! In fact, all is not quiet as the bulbs Neil planted are starting to peak through the soil. I am really looking forward to seeing the Snake Head Fritilaries we planted as I haven't done those before.

I was really lucky and received some Felco Secateurs for Christmas (thanks Ma and Pa!) and I christened them by pruning the Raspberries and Buddleja. They are fab and super sharp. On the way home we walked along some fields and much of the rivers are still flooded. In stark contrast to the fires near my Sis Lu in SE Australia. I'm hoping the weather for both of us calms down and I will be out digging in a couple of weeks.
