Beautiful blue sky day and Granddad came to visit. We took our camping stove up today and had sausage sandwiches in between digging over the plots with compost ("Warrior" and nothing less). Neil and Granddad even had our very own freshly picked spring onion in their sandwiches. I had to finally get rid of the nibbled cabbages and the only evidence of something edible looked like this:
Still that and the baby leeks should make a good side for dinner! The boys had a great time today and we managed 2 hours of non-fighting brotherly fun which was amazing! We did a chocolate hunt which went down well. We also borrowed a wheelbarrow and Neil "drove" the kids up and down the hill in it to collect more wood chip to cover the ground. They had fun standing on the mound of wood chip and stamping it down. Lots to see and the only sounds were birds chirping, trains chugging past and the odd small plane zooming past. Gorgeous. Too early to plant yet but all is now ready for the big day. Bring it on.
