At last the wonderful sun is here and a reminder of how lovely it is to garden with the warmth on your back, so long it seems since that last happened. Things can finally get going now and they are, in the house mainly. I have planted Butternut Squash seeds and now have 8 seedlings and am about to get the Courgettes and Pumpkins going from seed too. Tomatoes (yellow bite size ones) are on the list to do and so are carrots. The Peas in the small heated Propagator in the house are shooting up good and strong, about 50 seedlings. Still think we might need more to actually get enough for supper.
Neil and I visited the plot to water the potatoes and plant some Main Crop (Maris Peer). We planted Garlic for the first time seeing as we eat it every day and Onions (a mixed set so 50 different types). We weeded as the weeds are now coming up with super speed and found the Raspberries and a Tay Berry (?) looking very healthy amongst the Dandelions.
It was actually hot work yesterday and I ended up beat on the grass after a couple of hours.
A quick water and time to get the monkeys from their schools.
It's coming on now..........
